Welcome to the April edition of Sabé Spotlight, where we take you on a culinary tour and show off some of the finest Sabé cocktail/food pairings we find. This month, our journey includes Mexican, Greek, American, Japanese, BBQ and more… Cheers!
5. George’s Greek Cafe
Family-owned George’s Greek Café offers up authentic Greek cuisine in Downtown Long Beach. Gyros, Souvlakis, Salads, Falafels, Kabobs, Lamb Chops and Flaming Cheese (Saganaki) are some of the fantastic dishes available, and they pair beautifully with Sabé cocktails. OPA!
6. Society Kitchen
Society Kitchen is a local restaurant serving contemporary American cuisine fresh to order. Featured here is the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich w/side salad. The sandwich contains grilled hanger steak, caramelized onions, arugula, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and Chimichurri sauce on sourdough, paired with a Sabé Citrus Moscow Mule. The diverse menu also offers up some fantastic tacos, pizzas and salads.
7. Holé Molé
Holé Molé features family-owned Mexican food from Ensenada. They’re famous for their blistered Yellow Chiles, and the menu is jam-packed with delicious tacos, burritos, bowlés and nachos. Refreshing Sabé cocktails pair so well with the spicy Mexican food, especially the Sabé margaritas. ¡Salud!
8. Gatten Sushi
Gatten Sushi offers up delicious kaiten-style (conveyor belt) sushi. The menu features all of the usual suspects, including delicious maki (rolls), gyoza, rice bowls and sushi. And don’t sleep on the dessert… tempura ice cream mochi is a must-try. Kanpai!
The House of Xelas on East 1st Street features East LA-influenced Mexican BBQ, with local DJs spinning records at night to provide additional atmosphere. The result is a high-energy option for some very delicious tapas-style offerings. Chili, wings, tacos and tortas are on offer, and the intense flavors match up really well with light, refreshing Sabé cocktails.
