Spotlight: December 2019 (Part Two)

In Part Two of the December edition of Sabé Spotlight, our culinary tour takes us to Rockin’ Cajun, Little Vice, California Grill, Plunge & Boulevard 574… from all of us at Sabé to all of you, we’d like to wish you a very Happy Holidays and New Year!

1. Rockin’ Cajun Seafood and Grill

Rockin’ Cajun is a family-owned business that serves up New Orleans classics in the perfect casual atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Take the time to partake in a fresh seafood boil (shrimp, crawfish, crab legs and lobsters) or spoil yourself with Southern Louisiana seafood restaurant classics. No matter if you are craving Gumbo, Jambalaya, Étouffée, Shrimp & Grits, Chargrilled Oysters, or Po-boys, they’ve got you covered!

2. Little Vice

Surfside Burrito (grilled flour tortilla, smashed black beans, Spanish rice, purple cabbage slaw, three cheese blend, salsa verde, and caramelized onions with Shrimp “Little Vice Style” (topped with chipotle and cilantro lime aioli, pickled red onion, cojita and cilantro) w/ Margarita (Sabé Blanco, fresh lime juice and agave)

Little Vice was started by two childhood friends with a dream of opening a Baja-style eatery inspired by the food they’ve enjoyed over the years traveling and surfing in Mexico. They have created a casual and comfortable atmosphere using high-quality ingredients, and they source organically whenever possible. The food pairs beautifully with a craft beer, natural wine or a fresh Sabé margarita.

3. California Grill

Chicken Club (a triple-decker bursting with broiled chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and rosemary aioli, served on grilled garlic cheese sourdough bread) w/ Sabé Cucumber and Soda Water

California Grill strives to offer only the freshest ingredients, and they deliver a fantastic dining experience. A family owned and operated restaurant located just across the street from Whittier College, California Grill has been serving food up “Fresh, Fast and Fun” since 1996. They are a proud American restaurant with a California twist, and there are some very tasty Mexican dishes on the menu.

4. Plunge

BBQ Bleu Burger (Certified Angus Beef, blue cheese, bacon, fried shallots on a brioche bun) & Turkey Bacon Avocado (turkey breast, bacon, avocado, local sourdough, garlic aioli, romaine, tomato and red onion) w/ Sabé Copper and Ginger Beer

Plunge is a vegan-friendly location located on the second floor of the Seaside Beach Club. They have a menu for everyone, with the freshest local ingredients and the best view. 5. Boulevard 574

Boulevard 574 is the re-imagining of the former Boulevard Bagels Eatery. They kept some of their most popular dishes and expanded the menu with new, homemade favorites and a great selection of craft beers, wine & Sabé cocktails. In Part One of the December edition of Sabé Spotlight, our culinary tour takes us to Claire’s at the Museum, Calavera Burrito Co., Street Noods and H&H Brazilian Steakhouse… cheers!

1. Claire’s at the Museum

Claire’s at the Museum has been operating as a part of the Long Beach Museum of Art since 2005 and has continued to please guests from all over with the combination of diverse art, delicious food, spectacular ocean views and stunning, one of a kind ambiance.

2. Calavera Burrito Co.

Carnitas Burrito Bowl (fresh Carnitas on a bed of half lettuce and half white rice with salsa verde, guacamole, cilantro, onion, red salsa and Oaxacan cheese), chips & salsa and Sabé Blanco Frozen Margarita

The Calavera is a sugar skull in Mexican Culture which is a common gift for children and symbolic decoration for the Day of the Dead. The Calavera tells us to live life to the fullest, honor our family and loved ones, and eat some burritos. A portion of the money made by Calavera is used to support charities and to give back to the community as much as possible.

3. Street Noods

Inspired by the bright lights of Asia’s nocturnal street markets that serve authentic, flavorful eats from tiny stalls, Street Noods offers pan-Asian street style noodles and more in the heart of the Third Street Promenade. Executive Chef David Lespron takes a unique time-honored approach to rapid street market noodles reminiscent of late nights turned early mornings. 

4. H&H Brazilian Steakhouse

Marinated Roasted Chicken Breast spiced with a Brazilian twist with fresh herbs with Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Carrots, served with Brazilian Cheese Bread, Mashed Potatoes with Organic Garlic and Butter, Fried Polenta Fires and Golden Sweet Fried Bananas w/ Sabé Copper Mule

H&H is a Brazilian Steakhouse that is committed to working only with the best suppliers, ensuring they only serve organic, grass fed meat and produce.
