The Spitfire has been around since 1954 (it was previously known as Lindaire Coffee Shop). After 1991 it was named renamed Spitfire in homage of Santa Monica’s aviation history. In 1995, the dining area expanded and a bistro feel emerged. Now the restaurant is filled with WWII military and Douglas Aircraft memorabilia and a very family friendly feel. People travel to eat here all the time due to the nearby airport and soccer fields.

If you’re looking for delicious Spanish tapas in the Costa Mesa area, you’ve got to try Pueblo Tapas. Spotlight: October 2019 (Part Two)

In part two, we visit 49rs Tavern and Grill, The Cajun Bayou, Fifty One, Greenbelt, and Tangaroa Fish Market & Raw Bar.

The new 49r Tavern is owned by John and Karyn Frisch, who took over and made a few fantastic changes. The new patio is a great place to watch a game, play darts or hang out in Captain Johnny’s BBQ area.

2. The Cajun Bayou

At Cajun Bayou, you get to be a kid again and use your hands. They are family-owned, with a friendly staff that strives to create a great dining experience.
