Spotlight: March 2019 (Part 1)
Welcome to the March edition of Sabé Spotlight, where we take you on a culinary tour and show off some of the finest Sabé cocktail/food pairings we find. Part One of this month’s journey includes a Warm Brussels Caesar Salad, a Hiro Wasabi Crispy Chicken sandwich, Crispy Pork Gyoza, and Shrimp Curry…
1. O’Brien’s Pub, San Diego
If you’re looking for a great place to watch soccer in the San Diego area, look no further than O’Brien’s. They’re celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2019, with specials and events all year long. And they’ve got a fantastic menu that blends the standard fare (soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers) with more adventurous dishes to satisfy the foodies in your troupe. Here we feature their Hiro Wasabi Crispy Chicken sandwich with a refreshing and spicy Sabé Jalapeño Lemonade to wash it down.
2. Common Stock
One of Hillcrest’s newest restaurants, Common Stock’s delectable menu features a range of classic Southern American fare, including Mary’s Rotisserie Chicken (limited availability), the Charleston Pork Filet and the Prime Flat Iron Steak with black garlic chimichurri. Featured here is their delicious Warm Brussels Caesar Salad w/ charred Brussel sprouts, parmigiana reggiano and croutons, paired with a light and refreshing Common Stock Paloma (Sabé Blanco, organic grapefruit, lime).
3. HI Street Kitchen & Tap
Kicking off a new menu with a name change, HI Street Kitchen & Tap (formerly Tradewinds) is a terrific Asian gastro pub, with a wide range of flavorful dishes for meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike. Featured here are their fantastic crispy pork gyoza, with a delicious Mexican Mule to complement them perfectly. And if you’re a sports fan, they’ve got plenty of large TVs to watch all your favorite teams.
