The latest edition of SABÉ Spotlight takes us to The Anchor, Corner Joint, Meema’s, La Chula Cocina and Crusty Crab. All of these restaurants serve delicious food and have nice outdoor eating areas… Cheers!

1. The Anchor

The Anchor brings you the finest, freshest, and best seafood the area has to offer with the freshest and most sustainable, organic, and free range products in the market. Menu staples include their beautiful lobster roll topped with shaved black truffles, while other parts of the menu change according to the season.

Established in 2015, owners Luis and Eddy – after being in the restaurant industry for years – decided to create their own place and when the opportunity came up, they went for it. They wanted to maintain family values and serve some of the best food in the area. They serve an array of speciality pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, specialty drinks and beers and so much more.

Meema’s is a family owned and operated breakfast restaurant. Miguel has worked in the customer service and hospitality industry for over 20 years and wanted to bring his skills into Long Beach with his wife Jenny. All dishes are held to high standards, homemade and sourced fresh from local farms, markets and dairies.

4. La Chula

La Chula is a family owned and operated Mexican restaurant where they sell Mariscos, tacos, micheladas y mas! They are new in Downey and have already made a name for themselves with their fresh ingredients and beautiful displays of food.

5. Crusty Crab

Crusty Crab was established in 1982 as part of the San Pedro Post’s O Call expansion as a family owned and operated restaurant. They have an indoor and huge outdoor patio where you can pick food from a fresh seafood market, live crab and lobster tanks, BBQ and more. Its a great place to eat fresh seafood and have great views of the LA harbor while picnic style eating with your family.
